Summer School at Lakeside

Summer School at Lakeside takes place in July and August of each year and offers participants the opportunity to work with
professional artists involved in Theatre, Dance, Writing and Music. No previous experience is required, just lots of enthusiasm.

Wednesday 23 July to Friday 29 August

7 weeks of summer schools offering intensive, hands-on activities across the visual and performing arts, working alongside a fantastic range of artists.

LIFE SIZE MODEL MAKING

Wow your friends and family by creating life-size models using mixed-media.   The resultant works of art will be proudly displayed in the Angear Visitor Centre (next to the Djanogly Art Gallery) until 22 August!

Claire Cunningham and José Agudo are back following their hugely successful Heavenly Bodies summer school project last year.  This year they’re focusing on shadows and movement.  Ideal for people interested in physical theatre, movement and dance.

Fresh from touring the Telling Tales programme, Lucy Killingley has developed our first Dance Week for children aged between 6 and 10 years.   Our youngest participants will have lots of fun exploring creative movement and dance!

KATHAK DANCE AND CARNATIC TABLA

Two distinct opportunities to develop new skills – either as a complete beginner in the morning sessions – or as an experienced Kathak dancer in the Masterclass sessions - in the company of Vina Ladwa, Artistic Director of Manushi Dance Company.  Each class will be accompanied by a visiting tabla performer from India.
