About the Dancers

Derby - Ian Dolan and Lucy Killingley

Ian graduated from Coventry University in 2005 with a degree in Dance and Professional Practice. As a performer, he has participated in site specific events in Germany and the UK; and with his own company, IME (Intrinsic Movement Experts), he has toured the West Midlands. Ian works regularly across the East Midlands and will be working with New Art Club this summer.

Lucy graduated from Ballet Rambert School; she went on to study Arts Therapies, specialising in Dance, at The University of Derby. She has performed professionally for over fifteen years, including working with international choreographers.  An experienced teacher, Lucy has worked in a wide range of school and community settings and is currently developing a new piece of work for children.

Leicester - Alice Cade and Gemma Stevenson

Alice is a Laban graduate of Dance Theatre. Since graduating in 2004, Alice has been a member of Abalino Dance Theatre, a company which blends dance and puppetry, regularly touring the East Midlands. She creates one-off workshops to support these performances and has experience teaching primary, secondary and further education students.

Gemma trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, during which time she performed with the college’s touring company Verve in Glasgow, London, Manchester and Germany. She has taught regularly in Leicester working with a wide range of age groups and abilities. Gemma is a member of East Midlands-based dance company Anima.

Nottingham - Sarah Hedge and Oksana Tyminska

Sarah is a graduate of the London School of Contemporary Dance. She regularly teaches dance to children and young people as well as leading sessions in circus skills, and movement and dance therapy. She has performed with Malcolm Mbobo & Crew and Maya Dance, touring the UK and Europe.

Oksana trained at Leicester Polytechnic and is now a freelance dance practitioner, delivering East Midlands-wide residency projects and one-off workshops with children and young people, the elderly and other community groups. She works regularly with Nottingham-based national dance agency, Dance4, and has carried out work in Nottingham Schools as part of Creative Partnerships.

Rehearsal Director and Project Co-ordinator- Claire Cunningham

Claire joined Random Dance Company in 1997, performing in all works and acting as Rehearsal Assistant to the company until 2006.  She has also worked with Rui Horta in Portugal. Claire has taught extensively throughout Europe, most recently for Phoenix Dance Company (UK), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Belgium), Aracaladanza (Madrid) and various schools and studios.
