Playfactory is Lakeside’s half term provision for children and young people, with a remit to create,devise, perform and enjoy.

Come Along with us and Dance Through the Streets of New York
Using the American scene exhibition for inspiration, Jenny Edwards, community dance artist, led a fun workshop looking at American dance styles including the Lindy Hop, Jitter Bug and Swing.
Drama Workshops
Exploring the story of The Ugly Ducking through sensory experiences using dance & movement, storytelling, songs and practical play.
JIitterbugs
Participants could take part in the most bizarre and magical circus in town!
Adaptation
Page to Stage, working with Director Daniel Buckroyd from New Perspectives Theatre Company and Successful Nottingham writer Amanda Whittington to run a practical workshop on adapting films and books for the stage.
Retina Raw
Participants had the chance to work with internationally renowned dance company Retina for two days of devising and creating a brand new performance using movement, words, sound, dance and film.
Making Music
A workshop to compliment Theatre Rites’ production of In One Ear, this music making session was run by percussionist Mark Evans.
